Asumma experience: CLT tiny house on Lake Saimaa

This custom CLT summer house was commissioned by a forest industry professional looking to expand his lakeside property.

This 30m2 tiny house, a version of Asumma House T,  is built from CLT massive wood on the shore of Lake Saimaa, in southeast Finland. The summer house was commissioned by a forest industry professional with a deep appreciation for wood as a sustainable, natural, breathable building material.

He was looking for an architecturally stunning small house to complement his larger existing summer cottage. After speaking with various log house providers, he chose Asumma for a number of reasons: Modern architecture, the speed of CLT construction, and the level of service he got from Asumma — including architecture and engineering, complete project management, top-quality materials, and construction oversight.

The House T tiny house can scale in size from 20m2 to 40m2, with customizations, including a variety of sleeping configurations and kitchenette. Sliding glass walls span both lengths of the tiny house, permitting expansive views. Electrochromic glass shading and summer insect webs are also available.

The House T is available as a complete CLT tiny house package.
